delicious dinner

we've returned home from a really great trip north to minnesota. it was really fun, all of it. highlights included the cabin and lake, where we didn't sleep great, but had so much fin swimming and enjoying the boats and each other AND seeing family i haven't seen in a long time.
as always though, it was nice to return home to our sweet girls.
and we had a lovely day today.
slept in, played nintendo (one of the gifts regan got for his birthday), read, gardened, went to the park, made a great and beautiful dinner (yummy garden veggies with homemade peanut sauce),

cleaned out the cellar, posted things to sell on craigslist.
and it was good.

school's out

i am done with school, forever, if i want! it is a foreign feeling, but i like it.
we celebrated at a beautiful cabin in winter park, i'll post pictures later.
meanwhile, there have been many tornado sightings in our area, we saw one today, it was little and far away, but a bit unsettling none-the-less.
our garden is happy with all the rain too, i haven't watered in weeks!

ah, i'm almost done

so, i FINALLY got my second internship site, Northside Emergency.
i am pretty nervous about it to be honest. i really like the people though, so i am trusting they will be exited to teach me and i think i'll learn a ton. and of course i am set to go to Pueblo Zoo. i am really excited about this, it isn't a huge zoo, so there aren't a ton of exotic animals, but they do have some exciting critters , i don't even know what some of these animals are!
i am gearing up for finals tomorrow, then the big CPE and a weekend break in winter park followed by boreds and a week vacation to minnesota for my g-ma's 80th birthday! good for her, huh?
no pictures this time. i've been too busy studying.

regan biked some of the way.

our plants are doing great. i am so excited to plant them in the ground and eat vegetables from them! yay!

I sewed a fun little ditty today.

then i checked our little friends, in the mini nursery...they are awfully cute.

oooooh kay

okay, i am sad. i thought i got into pueblo zoo for my internship and i just found out i didn't. well, i didn't not, i just haven't yet. make sense?
regan made a lovely mini-nursery tonight and we planted things. i am hopeful that they will grow big and strong. a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBXZgB5HUHx2nr9vLaJaenGWTPtHbB4G0UFDUy_mhDJsWYHdut0AQThxXFXHDETGShF63fhCiRm_kgCzi5XgEpxZ-IdPCKs9xuL6RZ3Nm9crl-YOyYIT8iH1xV5VLgHqfpnlNF9Q/s1600-h/100_1797.JPG">

sushi time

regan made us the most delicous sushi the other night. he prepared everything and then we made our own rolls.

we had to roll them with tin foil, so the next day i went out and bought regan a surprise!

we are excited for next time!

feels good to be on denver soil again. really good to see my girls again.
we had fun in nj. really only brought my camera out for one day. we went to the shore for a bit on sunday afternoon.

it was a lovely, chilly, foggy day.

the boardwalk is one of my favorite places in the winter.

and of course, we loved victor.

first project

i sewed my first mushroom today. it is a pin cushion for my friend, henry, who sews a lot but does not have a pin cushion! i think it turned out great, but it was really hard. hopefully, i'll get better at it.

sewing machine

this is my beautiful sewing machine, i love it!

25

well, i feel like an adult now. we'll see how long that lasts.
i had a great couple days. wednesday night regan took me to black hawk to risk some money and see if we would come out on top. well, we did. we spent about 40 dollars total and won 60$. we spent the night up there and had so much fun. i was carded every 30 seconds, i started calling regan pops. we came down on thursday and cleaned out the cellar, not many people's idea of a fun birthday, but i liked it! then went to my mom's where she cooked indian food and gave me a wonderful sewing machine. i will post pictures when i set it up later.
it was a nice break from the pain and sadness this time of year will forever bring. surprisingly enough i wasn't reminded that my dad wasn't here to see me turn 25. i focused on who was here and how blessed i am with such a beautiful family. though, as i do every single day, i missed him dearly.
tonight i made reservations at my favorite sushi restaurant, Sonoda's, for 12 of my "closest" friends.
it was a good celebration of my birthday and in a few days i get to celebrate it again on the east coast with cassie and chris.

1.12.2009

today was good day

i awoke at 5 am, to a snow storm, kind of. it was lovely. when i got to school at 6 it was still dark and wintery. i have the responsibility of caring for the horses at school this week. it was a nice, chilly morning to spend time with cj, scout, yogi and gypsy. it felt like i didn't even do much, got their food together, and hay, mucked a little, ran around in the snow (just for fun), swept the tack room. but it was lovely. i have to care for them every night this week and i am thrilled.
then it took me 2 hours to get home!
went back to school for a long lecture on bovine genetics, which would have been very stimulating if it weren't so boring.
then i had my first dental. it was more than exciting. i saw them intubate her, a dog. then we each got a section of the mouth to clean. i was second and had the dirtiest part, by request. it was so satisfying to drill the tartar off of her molars. oh my. i also got to clean some of her incisors and a canine. so fun. the instructors we had we really funny and made it feel so comfortable. i loved it.
it was a good day.
